Strategy Tips
Basic strategy is a mathematically proven decision chart for every hand. Memorise it or keep a chart open beside you - online casinos allow this. It cuts the house edge from ~2% to ~0.5%.
Two Aces should always be split to give each a chance to hit 21. Two 8s are a terrible 16 - split them to give each a chance of landing an 18.
Insurance is a side bet that the dealer has blackjack when showing an Ace. It carries a house edge of around 7% - never take it.
European blackjack (dealer stands on soft 17) has a lower house edge than American variants (dealer hits on soft 17). Choose European where possible.
