Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data GambleDude uses, why it is used, which optional services you control, and how to contact us about your data.
1. Who We Are
GambleDude ("we", "us", "our") is the gambling review and comparison website atthegambledude.com. We publish reviews of online gambling sites and may earn commission through affiliate partnerships. Questions about this policy can be sent through our contact page.
2. What Data We Collect
2.1 Analytics Data
Optional services are off by default. If you enable Analytics in the privacy panel, we load Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Web Analytics and enable our first-party page-view and affiliate-click measurement. Depending on the service and interaction, this may involve:
- Page paths and interactions, without sending URL query strings to Google Analytics or our first-party page-view store
- Referring site origin and path, with its query string and fragment removed
- Broad device, browser, and operating-system information
- A country code or approximate location derived from network information
- Clicks on outbound affiliate links and the casino selected
Our own integration does not create an Ahrefs cookie directly. Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies after opt-in. Our first-party page-view record contains the page path, a scrubbed referrer, a broad device class, and a country code supplied by our host when available. If Analytics is off, these provider scripts are not loaded, our page-view beacon is not sent, and affiliate clicks are not added to our analytics database.
2.2 Sponsored-Content Data
If you separately enable Sponsored content, an A-ADS frame may load on pages that contain a labelled advertising slot. This causes your browser to connect to A-ADS and provide ordinary request information such as network and browser details. Advertising consent does not enable Analytics, and Analytics consent does not load A-ADS.
2.3 Data You Provide
If you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject, and the content of your message. This data is used to respond to your enquiry and is not used for advertising. If you submit a casino rating or complaint, we store the casino, rating or complaint category, and any complaint text you provide. Please do not include sensitive personal information in complaint text.
3. Cookies and Browser Storage
Our Cookie Policy explains each category and how to change it. The principal first-party browser storage items are:
Use the always-available Privacy settings button to change either optional category. Withdrawing Analytics clears accessible Google Analytics cookies and related local/session values, then reloads the page if analytics code had already loaded. Withdrawing Sponsored content unloads its frame. Browser controls can also clear site storage.
4. Why We Use Data
- To understand how visitors use the site and improve content
- To measure the performance of our casino reviews and category pages
- To respond to enquiries submitted via our contact form
- To publish aggregate ratings and receive casino complaints
- To protect forms and endpoints from spam, abuse, and unauthorised access
- To comply with legal obligations
Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, optional Analytics and Sponsored content rely on your consent. Responding to a request relies on taking the steps you ask us to take. Security, service integrity, and ordinary administration rely on our legitimate interests, balanced against visitor rights. We may also process data where necessary to meet a legal obligation. We do not use submitted personal data for automated decisions about visitors.
5. Data Sharing
Depending on the choices and features you use, data may be processed by Google Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics, and A-ADS under their respective terms. Vercel hosts and delivers the website, and Supabase provides database and authentication services. These providers process information needed for the relevant service.
When you click an affiliate link and sign up to a casino, that casino may set their own cookies and collect their own data. Their privacy policies govern that data - we have no access to it.
A clearly labelled A-ADS frame is not given a network URL until Sponsored-content consent is allowed. Loading or interacting with it is then subject to the provider's terms.
Some providers may process data in countries other than the one from which you visit. Their privacy notices describe where they process data and the transfer safeguards they use. We do not sell contact-form messages, ratings, or complaints.
6. Privacy Requests and Applicable Rights
Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights such as:
- Access - request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
- Rectification - request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure - request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction - request we limit how we process your data
- Objection - object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Portability - request your data in a machine-readable format
To make a privacy request, contact us. We may need enough information to verify and locate the relevant record, and will handle requests within the period required by applicable law.
6.1 UK Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, you can raise a data-protection complaint through our contact page. If you are unhappy with the outcome, you may also complain to theUK Information Commissioner's Office. This does not affect any other rights available to you.
6.2 US State Privacy Rights
Residents of California and some other US states may have additional rights when the relevant law applies. Depending on the state, these can include asking to know, access, delete, or correct personal information; opting out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising; limiting certain uses of sensitive information; appealing a refused request; and exercising rights without discriminatory treatment.
Submit an applicable request through our contact page and name your state. GambleDude does not exchange contact-form messages, ratings, or complaints for money. Our optional Analytics and Sponsored-content services stay off until you choose them in Privacy settings; you can withdraw either choice at any time.
7. Security
We use access controls, input validation, request limits, encrypted HTTPS transport, and restricted server-side credentials to reduce the risk of unauthorised access or misuse. No online service can guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data incident, we will assess and handle it as required by applicable law.
8. Data Retention
Analytics retention is controlled in the relevant provider account. Contact messages, ratings, and complaints are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to answer enquiries, operate the review service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion using the contact details above.
9. Children and Gambling-Age Restrictions
GambleDude is not intended for anyone below the legal gambling age where they live. Gambling-age rules vary by jurisdiction. Do not submit personal information through this site if you are below the age that applies to you.
10. Related Policies and Changes
We may update this policy periodically. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. An updated notice does not replace an explicit privacy choice where a new choice is required.
